The goal of this project was to utilize type hierarchy and the same design principles/qualities that were used by iconic typographer Jan Tschichold to create three different book cover designs. Each book cover focuses on emphasizing a different part of the supplied text. Check out my dropmark to see some earlier cover designs and progress.
This is the sub-title dominant design. One aspect of Tschicold's work I wanted to emphasize in this deisgn is the clean, sleek look.
This is the title dominant design. I like the way Tschicold layers elements in his work as he does it in a clean way that doesn't feel chaotic, so I wanted to create a design that utilizes layering.
This is the name dominant design. Since the text started out as mostly straight in my other two designs, I wanted to create a design that consisited of mostly diagonal type.
